Alsace Bird Terrine Ancienne Terrine D'Alsace Item# PB413 Origine: Alsace, France Circa: 1850-1870 Detail: We have NEVER..NEVER found a terrine of this age,color,design, original lid nor size from Alsace. We've found it in a much simpler form from the 1900's...or a simpler design in regard to the Egrets...but this? Non! It is a 14 inch D x 7 W, mid-19thC , wonderfully aged large terrine with a stunning cobalt blue that has deepened from being in the oven for over 150+ years. The design on the sides and lid (original!) are intriciate and first time viewed. The piece is just perfect with the air of time but well preserved. Anyone who loves this photo will love the piece 10x more when they see it in person. .
