Provencal Collander with Handle Passoire Provencal Item#PB 46 Origin: Provence, France Circa: 1800s Detail: Becoming one of the rarest pieces in the draining/collander form of poteries. The Provencal Passoire was for rinsing vegetables and fruit straight from the soil...this the handle. Eego, the only Passoire that was made with a handle. Its Creamy pale yellow/Creme glaze and its over-all form makes it one of the more coveted of these forms of poteries. 12 inches across. Beautiful patina of time to the glaze. First found in over a 1 year and a half! This exact form is in the 'Musee de Poteries: Hospices de madeleine' in St Emilion, Bordeaux. This piece belongs with a serious collector or....a museum!
